Secondment

Temporary capacity with a clear hourly scale.

Secondment at NewData means: you hire a data professional temporarily, per hour worked, with a scale that lowers the rate as the assignment grows.

You choose secondment when the work is temporary, when you need capacity fast or when you first want to get to know someone. Within two working days you receive a first response to your vacancy (as of August 2026).

The rate runs from € 70.00 down to € 60.00 per hour, all amounts excluding VAT (scale of August 2026). You choose the length of the assignment upfront and that sets the rate. These are starting prices: your own remuneration scheme sets the wage, and the wage sets the rate.

In depth

When does secondment fit, and when not?

Secondment fits temporary work, peak loads and work you have no people for right now: building reports, cleaning data, delivering a dashboard. You pay per hour worked, and the first year has no minimum number of hours and no notice period of months (rule of August 2026).

It does not fit when you want the knowledge to stay in-house permanently. Then choose DetaVast: hire first, then take over cost-free from 1,200 hours, or have a permanent professional found through recruitment and selection.

In doubt? You do not have to choose upfront: switching between models is possible; how that works is on its own page.

Rates

All amounts excluding VAT, rates of 12 August 2026. You choose the length of the assignment upfront and that sets the rate. If the agreed hours are not reached, a closing invoice follows. If more hours are worked, no different rate applies.

Inside the rate

What is inside the hourly rate?

The hourly rate contains the professional’s gross wage, holiday allowance and the reservation for holiday days, pension premium, employer charges and social premiums, continued pay during illness, insurance and liability, guidance from NewData, and recruitment, selection and administration.

What the rate becomes is set by your own remuneration scheme. The law requires that someone working at your organisation earns the same as your own people in the same position. Your scheme sets the wage, and the wage sets the rate. That is why starting amounts are shown here. What it comes to at your organisation, we calculate for you before you sign anything.

Nothing is added: no placement fee and no start-up costs.

Flexibility

How flexible is secondment, and what changes after a year?

In the first year there is high flexibility: no minimum number of hours, scaling up and down along the way, and no notice period of months (rule of August 2026).

After a year the professional gets an hours contract and a firm duration is agreed per candidate. From that moment a minimum take-off per month applies: its level depends on the hours worked in the first year, is discussed upfront and recorded in the order confirmation. If the minimum is not met, the difference is invoiced, even when those hours were not worked.

Holiday and sick hours count towards the minimum: you are not punished when the professional is on holiday or falls ill. If the total then still stays below the minimum, that is because the professional was not deployed, and that difference is invoiced. You only pay extra when it was down to you.

On the hours themselves: take more than agreed and the price is not recalibrated when a bracket is passed; the rate holds for the duration of the assignment. Take fewer than the bracket the rate was based on, and the difference is charged on the closing invoice. That closing invoice is named upfront in the quotation, so it is never a surprise.

If the cooperation ends after the first year, a transition payment is added. The flexibility sits at the start, where you need it, and the certainty for the professional with a long-term deployment.

Questions

Frequently asked questions about hiring

Can I hire someone for a small job too?

Yes. The scale has no separate entry threshold: the first bracket runs from 0 to 200 hours, at € 70.00 per hour excluding VAT (scale of August 2026). You choose the length of the assignment upfront and that sets the rate; if more hours are worked, no different rate applies, and if the agreed hours are not reached, a closing invoice follows.

What does it cost when it has to happen fast?

For urgent work a rate of € 80 per hour excluding VAT applies (August 2026). For a regular request you receive a first response to your vacancy within two working days, and someone is up and running within three to four weeks (lead times of August 2026).

How quickly can a seconded professional start?

Someone is up and running within three to four weeks (lead time of August 2026). The first step is faster: within two working days you receive a first response to your vacancy.

Am I tied to anything when I hire someone?

Not in the first year: no minimum number of hours, scaling up and down along the way, and no notice period of months (rule of August 2026). After a year the professional gets an hours contract and a firm duration is agreed per candidate; from then on a minimum take-off applies and the difference is invoiced, even when those hours were not worked. If the cooperation ends after that, a transition payment is added.

Can I take over the professional who works with us now?

Yes. You then switch to DetaVast: the hours worked count and the takeover is cost-free from 1,200 hours worked, with the shortest track at 1,200 hours (tracks of August 2026). How a switch works is at switching between models.
