What is the difference between New Data Student and New Data Search?
With New Data Student the professional stays employed by us and works at your organisation on a contracting basis: you pay by the hour, there is no minimum number of hours and you can scale up or down. With New Data Search the professional joins your own payroll; we search and select, and you make the hire. In short: Student is capacity you hire in, Search is someone you take on.

What is the difference between New Data Student and New Data Squad?
The difference is in the question, not in the size. New Data Student is for work that is clear and needs doing: reporting, migrations, clean-up, automation. New Data Squad is for a problem that first has to be worked out and designed before anyone can act on it, and that brings experience you see back in the hourly rate. If the work is already laid out, with Squad you pay for experience you do not need.

Which route fits me?
Three questions usually get you there: will the role last, is the work clear, and how fast does someone need to start. If the role will last and you want a permanent hire, that is New Data Search. If the work is clear and mainly needs capacity, that is New Data Student. If it first has to be worked out what should happen, that is New Data Squad. You do not have to choose upfront: if another route turns out to fit better along the way, we move across without starting again.

Is New Data Network something I can hire as well?
No. New Data Network is not a service and carries no rate: it is the layer beneath the three routes, with knowledge, events, alumni and partners. It is what lets us bring the right people together quickly, whichever route fits. You do not buy it separately; you notice it in how fast someone is there.

Can I still take a contracted professional onto my payroll later?
Yes, and with DetaVast it costs you nothing extra: you agree a number of hours upfront, from 1,200, and then you take the professional on at no cost. 1,200 hours is roughly seven months full time. No transfer fee and no buy-out. That is also why New Data Student is a good route when you are not yet sure the role will last: you work together first and decide afterwards.
