Hiring internationals

International specialists without surprises.

NewData helps organisations engage international data specialists who work in the Netherlands as highly skilled migrants. The salary thresholds come from the IND and the rates follow directly from the salary.

You choose this route when the talent you need cannot be found in the Netherlands. The full calculation is on this page, without small print.

We earn nothing on the visa application. Are you an international yourself? Your answers are on the dedicated internationals page.

Conditions

Under which conditions does an international work?

The contract duration is six or twelve months, depending on the form (conditions of August 2026).

The deployment is always full-time, 40 hours per week. Full-time is not a NewData choice but a condition attached to the permit.

You only pay the hours that are worked. When illness or holidays mean no work is done, we do not invoice those hours.

Questions

Frequently asked questions about highly skilled migrants

What does it cost to hire a highly skilled migrant?

The rate follows from the wage. Up to a gross monthly wage of € 3,200 the regular NewData Student scale applies, from € 70 to € 60 per hour excluding VAT; for every euro of hourly wage above that, € 2 per hour is added (rule of 14 August 2026). For a highly skilled migrant of 30 and older the rate comes to € 101.64 at the highest bracket and € 91.64 at the lowest, excluding VAT. The professional’s pay follows the client’s remuneration scheme.

Do intermediaries earn on a visa application?

We earn nothing on the visa application. The rates for highly skilled migrants are published openly on this page (August 2026).

Is there a lower salary threshold for young highly skilled migrants?

Yes. For highly skilled migrants under 30, the threshold is € 4,357 gross per month, against € 5,942 for 30 and older; for the reduced criterion and the orientation year it is € 3,122 (IND, looked up on 11 August 2026). All amounts are gross and exclude 8% holiday allowance. A young highly skilled migrant is therefore also cheaper per hour: € 83.35 against € 101.64 at the highest bracket, excluding VAT.
