For professionals
Work you learn from, at organisations you would not otherwise get into.
New Data connects students, graduates and experienced data professionals to assignments where their work is genuinely used. You are not on your own: New Data supports you during the assignment as well.
Who this is for
Student or graduate
You study data, computer science or econometrics, or you have just graduated. Through New Data Student you work on real assignments, flexibly alongside your studies and with no minimum hours.
Experienced professional
You are an analyst, engineer, scientist, BI or AI specialist looking for a next step. Through New Data Search we look for the place that fits, not the vacancy that happens to be open.
Senior or independent expert
You work on complex data and AI questions and want substance, not an hours factory. Through New Data Squad you join a team that leaves knowledge behind with the client.
What you can expect from us
- Support during the assignment, not only at the start
- Work that gets used, not an observer's placement
- Access to the network: knowledge sessions, events and alumni
- Agreements on hours and rate on paper beforehand
- With contracting through DetaVast: your client can take you on at no cost, from 1,200 hours worked, roughly seven months full time
What you earn
Amounts are gross per hour, including holiday pay and the reservation for holiday days.

Why it says from
These are our base amounts. What you actually earn on an assignment follows the remuneration scheme of the organisation you work at. That is set out in law, and it works in your favour: if their collective agreement runs higher, so does your hourly pay.
You always hear beforehand what you get on a specific assignment. Never afterwards, and never different from what was agreed.
These amounts apply to contracting. With recruitment you join the client as an employee, and they set the salary.
What the client pays per hour is not what you earn, and that is not a trick. On top of your bare gross hourly wage comes almost the same amount again before we have earned anything at all: employer contributions, pension, holiday days, holiday pay, continued pay during illness and insurance. Together that is close to a factor of two. Not one euro of our margin sits in it. What we earn is whatever is left after that, and we are not secretive about it.

True or false?
We were back at the Dutch national econometrics day in 2026. We put four statements about data, AI and work to students and to our own team. The answers varied more than we expected. Spoken in Dutch, with subtitles in the picture. They only start when you click.
AI means you no longer need data expertise.

Several visitors respond one after another; their names are not shown. The film is in Dutch and the subtitles are burnt into the image; below is that same text.
As an econometrician you can find work anywhere.

Juniors need a great deal of guidance.

Companies that do nothing with data fall behind.

The roles we work on
Not quite recognising yourself here? Apply anyway. The role is a starting point, not a filter.
Data analyst
A data analyst who gets from insight to decision.
A data analyst turns raw numbers into answers somebody can act on. Strong analysts ask the question behind the question before they start.
Data engineer
A data engineer who builds pipelines that hold.
The data engineer builds the foundation: pipelines, platforms and integrations every other role leans on. Without this role, every dashboard stays manual work.
Data scientist
A data scientist who gets past the pilot.
Models and predictions are the easy part. A good data scientist thinks from day one about how the model will be maintained and explained.
BI specialist
A BI specialist whose dashboards actually get used.
The BI specialist builds, maintains and analyses management information. The difference between a good and an average one is what they leave out, not what they add.
AI specialist
An AI specialist who brings machine learning and GenAI to the floor.
The AI specialist moves between research and delivery: what is possible, what is permitted, and what it returns once it runs.
Developer
A developer who makes ideas actually work.
Our developers make sure ideas actually work in practice. They build, maintain and improve software that supports, automates and connects processes.
How you start
Create a profile
You create a profile in the New Data portal. It takes a few minutes and commits you to nothing.
Introduction
We talk about what you can do and where you want to go. Only then do we look at which assignments fit.
