First see whether it fits, then employ.

Employing someone after two interviews remains a gamble. Employing someone after months of working together is not. That is what DetaVast exists for: hire first, then take over cost-free. Want plain hiring only? See secondment without a takeover agreement. At NewData the cost-free takeover starts at 1,200 hours worked, roughly seven months full-time; in the market 2,000 to 2,200 hours is usually the minimum (August 2026).

This article explains how the tracks work and what happens when a candidate does not fit after all.

The tracks

Which tracks are there?

All amounts excluding VAT, rates of 12 August 2026. After the agreed number of hours worked you take the professional over cost-free.

TrackRate
1,200 hours€ 70.00 per hour
1,600 hours€ 65.00 per hour
2,000 hours€ 60.00 per hour

All amounts excluding VAT, rates of 12 August 2026. 1,200 hours is roughly seven months full-time. The full mechanics are on the service page about DetaVast.

The half-way rule

What if the candidate does not fit after all?

Then NewData brings in the next candidate, and the hours worked carry over up to at most half of the chosen track (rule of August 2026).

The new candidate therefore always works at least half of the hours personally. You never take someone over cost-free who has not proven themselves in your own practice. Starting with plain hiring and moving to a track later is possible through switching between models.

Questions

The questions that come in about this

Can I employ someone I first hired?

Yes. At NewData that is called DetaVast: you hire first and take the professional over cost-free after the agreed number of hours worked, without takeover fee or buyout sum (tracks of August 2026). You choose a track of 1,200, 1,600 or 2,000 hours upfront; the hourly rate is higher for shorter tracks.

How many hours are customary before you may employ someone?

In the market that usually sits around 2,000 to 2,200 hours worked (market picture, August 2026). At NewData it starts at 1,200 hours, roughly seven months full-time, after which you take the professional over cost-free (tracks of August 2026).
