Vervoerregio Amsterdam

The Vervoerregio wanted to accelerate data-driven working, but temporarily lacked the capacity and expertise to translate geo and public transport data into concrete decision information. One important question: which neighbourhoods and bus stops are still well served in the evening?

The approach

Working together

A professional connected timetable, geo and public transport card data, built repeatable analyses and dashboards and made visible which stops were no longer served after 20:00.

The result

What is different now

The Vervoerregio can take accessibility into account more precisely in choices about services.

  • Gaps in evening coverage per neighbourhood and stop are visible.
  • Priorities for routes and frequencies are more concrete.
  • Decisions about accessibility are made faster.
  • The analyses are repeatable thanks to documentation and handover.
  • Fewer ad hoc analyses, more room for policy.

In one line

From transport data to a sharp view of evening accessibility.

Six months of work that accelerated data-driven mobility.
