For professionals

What can you learn here as an intern?

We take on interns for work placements and for graduation internships, all year round and not in fixed rounds. You work on real assignments, and supervision comes from New Data Student and sometimes from the client as well.

Two kinds of internship

Work placement

You work alongside us on real work and learn the trade close up. What you do depends on your programme and your year; we look at what fits you and at what is running at the time.

Graduation internship

You graduate with us, with or without a working component. A graduation assignment that includes working comes with an allowance; pure research without working does not.

The allowance

A graduation internship with a working component comes with an allowance. How much depends on the kind of internship, your year and the assignment: an internship at our office is not the same as one at a client. We do not put an amount here that may not apply in your case; it comes up in the first conversation.

Who supervises you

Supervision runs through New Data Student, and for an internship at a client that client supervises you too. So you are never on your own, and there is always someone here you can call.

What has come out of it

What students ask us

When can I start?

Any time. We do not work with fixed rounds or closing dates; if something fits, it can start.

Do I get an internship allowance?

For a graduation internship with a working component, yes. For a graduation assignment without working, no. How much depends on the kind of internship, your year and the assignment, and we discuss that in the first conversation.

Is the internship at New Data or at a client?

Both happen. At a client you work on a real assignment and that client supervises you as well; supervision from New Data Student stays in place.

Which programmes fit?

Data, IT and everything that sits next to it: from marketing to business administration. We have had interns from vocational to university level. If you are unsure whether your direction fits, just ask.

Can I keep working here after my internship?

It happens. Frederique graduated with us and now works here permanently. It is not a promise that comes with an internship, but it is not an exception either.

Is your field not listed?

Send us a message anyway. There is a fair chance something can be worked out; we would rather look at what someone can do than at what their programme is called.
